You should have known about the PSP phone announced by sony ericsson. But this isn't about the PSP-phone, but the new and improved. Thankfully, sources close to Sony have made available some juicy details about the new portable system. Everything is listed below.
First of all, handheld gamers and PlayStation dedicated fans should know that we're not talking PSP2 here (although it may very well be PSP2 once you hear the changes), but a much slimmer designed PlayStation Portable, thanks mostly to a new LED screen delivering an ultra-crisp image . Respectively, the screen will take up far less space and also not drain the battery as much. The game play hours may be pumped up to as much as four times longer than with the original PSP. Impressed yet? Grab on to something, 'cause this one will literally knock you off your feet: 8 gigs of internal flash memory, revamped buttons including the D-Pad of course. This one will be close to the design of the SIXAXIS' D pad.
Sources also indicated that the redesigned Playstation Portable is nearing completion and that mass production will be commencing soon. Priced at around $170, if the company decides that a built-in camera isn't such an option, the product will be officially unveiled at this year's E3, and hopefully out and in stores in August.
In the meantime, we're still hoping for some official word on everything mentioned above, as Sony Computer Entertainment of America declined to comment on "rumor or speculation," the same gaming site reports. It sounds quite real though, so expect a full confirmation and who knows, maybe even more hot stuff.
