Iraq wins the Asian cup title for the first time

Iraq wins the Asian cup title for the first time with a thumping win over Saudi Arabia in Jakarta. It had to be Iraq's skipper Younis Mahmood to head one past the goal in the 71st minute to clinch the win. Mahmoud's goal came after concerted Iraqi pressure when Hawar's corner directed at the far post went beyond goalkeeper Yaser Al Mosailem and on to the striker's head for a terrific header. The Iraqis had something to cheer about after their war ravaged homeland was left in ruins by the terrorists.
