The double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will leave McLaren-Mercedes and return to Renault next year, the German newspaper Bild will report in its Friday edition. Alonso has signed a contract for three years from 2008 with Renault where he won his two world championships before moving to McLaren-Mercedes in 2007. However, in last few months, Alonso's relations have deteriorated badly with the McLaren team of Ron Dennis and in particular with British team mate Lewis Hamilton. Alonso finished second in Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix and is now just four points behind the championship leader, Hamilton, heading into the final race of the season in Brazil.
