OLED - Next-gen displays

Gone are the days of CRT and LCD's. Its time for OLED's to conquer the market. OLED's(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) is considered to be the most promising solution for the future of displays, as it requires considerably less power than other types of displays, not to mention the very vivid colors and high versatility. Hence most of the manufacturers have already begun to work on this produce their own products. But full scale OLED's are quite distant now. Samsung has already given a roadmap on its production of OLED's, which showed only 42 inch Full HD displays to arrive in 2010. Samsung is planning to produce 2 million unit in 2008. But the bigger ones will be released only in 2009. This date seems to be a little too far in the future, as the people from Sony have already come up with an all-OLED TV of their own. However, since Samsung is one of the most important display manufacturers and a trend-setter in this field, it's quite likely that that's the approximate time frame when OLED TVs will really hit in full swing.
